Phil keeps having incredibly vivid dreams where he’s married to Clint Barton and they live in a beautiful house together. The dreams go back and forth through a timeline where sometimes they have a small child, sometimes they’re only beginning to date and so on.
During these dreams, Phil feels happier than ever, but when he wakes up, he’s left in turmoil. What do these dreams mean? And why have they been happening so much lately? It makes dealing with Clint, who up til now has only been a friendly colleague, quite difficult. Phil finds himself having flashbacks to moments in the dreams at the most inopportune moments, particularly when they make skin contact for whatever reason.
Clint seems to notice, as he stops hanging around Phil’s office so much and acts differently when they are closeby…
but that’s because he’s been having dreams as well…
OMG A little time manipulator/psychic mutant that travels back and nudges her daddies together (after the Loki incident) when she learns that her daddies may not have ended up together if Clint had taken a certain mission!
She goes back and starts leaving little hints in their dreams, and even works with them some times and (cough, Agents of Shield recruit, cough) ends up being close enough to finally do more than dream nudge them and is so happy her daddies finally end up together!
I love it
Oooh and the powers of the kid originates from the residual Tesseract magic in Clint!?
SOME ONE WRITE THIS!!!
YEAH! And that’s part of the weird thing with Phil’s dreams (flashforwards? visions?): the kid is so Clint-y but also so Phil-like?! Which is a mystery all of its own! [MPREG!]

Dude the random “ah dad no…” moments alone!
Oh gosh yeah can you imagine!
I like this whole idea so much! Imagine this kid on the AoS Bus being WAY too pushy about Phil making contact with ~home base~ and looking and acting so much like Clint (which makes Phil suddenly miss Clint). And they’d be like, EW DAD-I-MEAN-COULSON NO any time Phil so much as looks at another person that isn’t Clint.
And when they finally get them both in the same timezone and talking to each other (“Phil, this new recruit of yours looks and acts so much like you it’s crazy” “Like me?! They’re like YOU, you mean!”) they sneak off to accidentally on purpose lock Phil and Clint in a room together for a day or so…
Then a series of accidentally-on-purpose tropey mishaps occur, that the kid THINKS might have got them together in the first place. Clint and Phil get locked in a lot of places together, like a log cabin in a snow drift, an elevator on the side of Stark Tower, handcuffed together in a helicopter cockpit… then there are the missions that the kid sneakily gets them assigned: undercover married on a gay cruise, owning a bakery together, Clint undercover as a stripper and Phil as the ‘cop’ who busts the bar he works in and SO ON, all related to stories that the kid has heard them talking about in the future/past…
